Re: Ludwig Supraphonic - 5" or 6.5" depth?

I've owned both for years.

Part of me sees the sense in this. But part of me also thinks that the 6.5 is ultimately the more versatile drum. You can tune up a 402 so that it gets a lot closer...

Re: Another kit share story

Years ago I forgot my cymbals. I was lucky and the sound guy actually owned a music store near by. He was kind enough to open his shop and offer me whatever I wanted. I grabbed a pair of hats...

Re: Excellent!

I would have thought a guy who asks as many questions as you may just try and take some of the advice given on board.

Clearly I was wrong.

At 62, you obviously know it all. In spite of 162...

Re: What are your bass player priorities / red flags?

How did he stack up against the guy he's replacing Andy?

I've told you before, I loved that guy. His playing was great. His stage demenour was entertaining. And his overall presence was fabulous....

Re: Thanks!

Of course you will. That, I already knew.

But you pepper questions here like you're actually genuinely searching for answers. So thought I'd try as best I could to actually offer you a viable,...

Re: How many have matching snare finish & brand with rest of kit?

They don't have to be flat. But there's a more workable compromise than having them pointing straight towards you as per your photo.

Ultimately there's a good reason why you don't see any...

Re: Mark Guiliana or Marcus Gilmore?

So, you've definitively answered your own question then?

What about Mark Guiliana vs Justin Tyson vs a Valium and a good lie down?

Re: MB's Random Question Thread

I'm sure he wasn't the first, but Larry Mullen Jnr was doing it in the 80's. Apparently his reason was that he wasn't as adept with his right foot as he'd liked to have been and used it to compensate...

Re: How many have matching snare finish & brand with rest of kit?

The finish has never matched. On occasion the brand has.

Re: It is damped, not dampened.

Its a level of pedantry that Id ordinarily love to engage you with over numerous libations at a bar somewhere.

Unfortunately this one is an argument where the Oxford dictionary vehemently ...

Re: Dave Lombardo

Yep. Huge fan.

In fact, even as an angst teen growing up when Reign In Blood was first released, I've always been a far bigger Dave fan than I'll ever be a Slayer fan. I think he's an absolute...

Re: Happy St. Patty's Day Everyone!

In these parts it appears as if he's the patron saint of rolling around shitfaced.

Only we call him St. Paddy so that no one confuses him for a Big Mac. :-)

Re: Dealing with a controlling bandmate.

I'm struggling to see why you wouldn't just replace him.

He's brought nothing to the table. He's no real strength on the songwriting front. He's already cost you one valuable musician and band...
