Re: I'm looking to buy Tama or DW

I purchased a Starclassic B/B kit in 2011 and it came with a virgin bass drum as part of a standard 5pc shell pack. Do they not come standard like this anymore? At that time, $1800 got you a 22X20...

Re: Thinking of selling my starclassic maples :-(

I own a Tama Starclassic Birch/Bubinga, which I know is a different animal than the maples. They are deep, dark, full and warm at medium to medium low tunings. I started out using G2 clears over G1...

Re: Looking for great maple snare for studio. Rock, pop, country.

I always liked the Pearl MCX Masters 6ply maple for a lower cost, budget friendly snare. Both the 5.5" and 6.5" versions I've tried are great.

Re: Tama Starclassic performer birch

Contact your Tama dealer and have them call Tama on your behalf. It would be a special order if they can still do it and you would most likely wait about 6 months from order to delivery.

Re: new tama kit

It looks like that the Silverstar will not be the replacement for the Superstar. They will offer both, but the Superstars will now come in hyper-drive sizes only.

Re: rock & roll - John Bonham ending solo youtube lesson

Thank you for that! The hard part for me is to play the hertas so they don't sound like single stroke fours at speed...

Re: Trading up, need help! Sonor / Tama

Nice kit....and I don't think there would be any problem gigging with that rack if you chose to do so.

Re: Here's a dilemma for you!

Tama makes a double tom holder called a "Stilt," for around $100. This might give you more flexibility on getting your toms over the bass more so they are less "off set," making room for your high...

Re: Tama Starclassics and floor tom issue...

Great looking kit, Dennis! I guess it doesn't look too bad based on your picture. I may be able to live with that height, although you do have the 14" floor tom maxed out on the legs.

Re: Tama Starclassics and floor tom issue...

Thanks for the suggestions! Extended length floor tom legs seems to be the most logical (and probably least expensive) way to go. I didn't know Tama offered those...or if not, maybe I can get some...

Nice article, Thanks! One thing for me, though...I've been playing dbl bass for some years now and I use dbl pedals as well as two bass drums. For me, I can get way more power and a more even sound...

Re: I need help and serious advicve from professional top flight drum teachers.

I think that you should just simply be sincere like you are here and share these thoughts with the parents. Ultimately I think that you should share with the parents what your reasoning is and let...

Re: Looking for a snare drum..

I bought this 6.5X14, 10 lug, black galaxy Acrolite new, only because I couldn't find this model used when I wanted it. However, I have since seen them go for around $150.00 which is slightly more...

Re: Wood or Metal

There are so many good snares out there in both wood and metal. It really comes down to the sound that you are looking to achieve, none being right or wrong.

I have had both but right now I'm...
