I would suggest stripping it down to just the hats snare and bass, and slowly add on as you start to feel more and more comfortable
For instance after a while add in a floor tom, then maybe a crash...

i just recently started playing in a new space.Unfortunately the kick drum gets drowned out by everything else, not just the guitar, my other drums and cymbals too.

Yeah thats half the reason i got my kit with a 20" bass, i like my rack tom nice and low.
Of course i think it sounds great as well but the easy tom adjustment is a huge plus for me.
