nah, you can easily go heel down or heel up, its not intrusive at all really, It doesn't really have 'modes' it just becomes integral to your playing you can use it or not! Try and check one out!...

I use a pair on sessions all the time, no noise problems at all! They're a really great tool! And I'm a pretty quiet player generally!

I'm sorry to be a pain, but I cannot vew ANY videos on 'putfile' I'm sure its just a quicktime incompatibility with my version of OSX, does it require quicktime 7?

you can try a rolled towel gaffa'ed tight! Then place it in a low smile shape against the batter head inside the drum. This minimal dampening can be really effective!
