Re: Catalina Club Mod....uh Mod

my catalina club jazz had the rubber stop mount thing.. it rendered the tom basically unusable.. i drilled and mounted straight on the shell... turned the L arm upside down and it resonates like a...

Re: How can this be too many?

Re: is anyone rocking a 10x14 rack tom instead of 9x13?

that definately looks very cool... the other issue i have is i get sick of tuning my 12 inch tom... 14 always sounds killer... i fiddle with the 12 till i get sick of it... i figure why not start...

Re: I've completed the vibe

i snagged a nineties 6.5 supra this summer for 250.00... the heads were destroyed and the snare wires were broken, but the shell itself was in good to very good condition... so i feel like that was...

Re: is anyone rocking a 10x14 rack tom instead of 9x13?

personally i am playing a 12 14 20 configuration... the band i am playing with plays a sort of greasy hard rock, and i keep thinking i need more depth in my tom sound... i just thought if i was going...

is anyone rocking a 10x14 rack tom instead of 9x13?

it seems to make more sense to me, if i wanted a big drum sound for rock that i would go 10x14 rack and 16x16 floor tom... i always thought the 9x13 was not the best sounding tom

Re: Drum Gear I Dislike/My opinions

i dislike how much it costs to get the things you really want. i especially dislike the general opinion about drummers, "anyone can play drums"... this is perpetuated by double pedal noise making...

Re: Ludwig Classic Maple.....Awesome Sound, but falling apart.

i don't understand how screws in a shell can come loose after they have been tightened.... how much abuse would it take to have things rattling right off your shells?

Re: Rack tom on snare stand

i think this debate boils down to the stand itself... i have a plain gibraltar stand that exhibits zero tone or resonance loss on my 12 inch tom... i have a tama roadpro that kills the tom.... adding...

Re: Best Snare for $250?

the best snare i have seen for 250 is my very own 6.5x14 ludwig supraphonic that i got used for 250... can't beat it

Re: tom growling

what i do to make my drums sound absolutely perfect, is to sit in my apartment where i can't play them, and just stare at them.... nary a growl to be heard

Re: Ludwig 2012... Club Date is back!

one thing i can't understand, is why don't all ludwig drums come with the weathermaster drum heads... i mean they make their own brand of drum heads and they ship kits with those evans things... just...

Re: Changing The Color of a Tom?

if you are going to paint it, be prepared to do a pile of wet sanding to get that professional look... unless you have some fairly sophisticated spray equipment

Re: Gretsch Catalina Club vs. Ludwig Cavern Club vs. ?????
