happens to me almost everytime i try a new song. sometimes i get so frustrated, then i walk away from the kit for a day, or play a different song, then, magically the nexy day the part i was stuck at...

i went thru the same thing recently (playing about a year). finally took my kit apart, and postioned the bass pedal and realized i was gonna have to move my toms to a tom mount in order to compensate...

i always wondered if the original drummer himself 'remembered" what and how they played a particular tune, and could reporduce it live, note for note. i know i have seen several live performances...

mainly cd's, some stuff on the MP3. i still buy 2 or 3 cd's a month. i like having pics, and liner notes and all the stuff you don't get by just downloading.
