We are the drummers, we say how drum size listings are written.

I Like Diameter X Depth. As stated above Diameter is most important because of the variety of depth from different manufacturers.

I would keep the chrome only cause the black is painted not power coated in a few months it will chip & flake & look like crap.
Ive see a used black hardware pdp set & it looked like crap.

Quiet drums

I you want quiet fill your toms/floors/bass/snare with pillows or blankets to keep noise down & you can remove them when you want to play out.

Good Cymbals cheap are Paiste PST7 or 8. Good...

Problem I see is you have your tomholders buried to the hilt in the bass drum. Pic them up a few inches & bring the toms closer together. The angle you have them at currently is unnatural.

Bought a 5pc kit for my son. YSCB (2009-2013 Silver Badges) for $360 used at GC. Came with a speedking in great shape, no squeelin. Raven Black (Green). I bought a 2nd bass drum for $140 Used on CL....

I would start with an used intermediate kit. Pearl Vision series, Tama Silverstar, are good choices IMO.
Cymbals I would go with Paist PST7 if you could.
Stay away from Poplar, not that there bad...

DW on a PDP kit. Don't do it. Your average fan doesn't know the difference in drums 1 kit to the next, be it sonar, tama, pearl dw or pdp.
