Re: Practice it until it "feels good."

I’m pretty sure those snares would sound significantly different in Canadian air. It could be tricky marketing if you don’t get international facts. And I know you’ll be amazed at my selflessness,...

Re: A revolting development
Hmmm. A familiar quip from a Womb forum member. Is that you, or did you just knick the line? (Which is great, BTW, I’ve used it too.)

Re: Facebook-only gear companies
My first impression would be “well, looks like Buddy’s working out of his garage.”
Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
But I’m still a fan of bricks-and-mortar stores where I can try...

Re: DW vs Ayotte??
Yeah, it sounds like both kits are pretty sweet, so I’d go with the Ayottes mostly because they’re less common.

Re: Looking while playing
A musician who doesn’t look at his instrument while playing appears much more proficient to an audience. And even more so to other musicians. Of course, not looking is a lot easier with almost any...

Re: How to improve the left hand.
Put your right hand in your pocket and leave it there. All day. All the time.
Eat with your left. Open doors with your left. Put keys in locks with your left. Use your mouse with your left....

Re: Smooth Hissing Hi Hat
As you guessed in your initial post, recording technique has a major effect on the sound. Well, more accurately, I mean processing of the recording. If you slap a compressor on (a recording of) an...

Re: How long from complete beginner to gigging?
It was a long time ago, but I think I went 3 years from absolute beginner to playing my first gig, which was in a pit orchestra for a musical theatre company.
That seems crazy to me now, all...
