I've always used both

learned traditional as a kid then took on matched for another option and since have always switched between the two..... most of the time unknowingly

I compare it to...

I actually watched Billy Cobham play almost an entire set with both hands in trad grip in the mid 90s in LA.... which would make that matched grip no?

sounds like you have not been exposed to any really good jazz

there is barely any "triplet-y swingy" stuff in any of the good modern stuff

I recommend checking out bands like Brad Mehldaus...

huge difference between "perfect drumming posture" and poor posture
and what is being discussed is the trad side lean that some have.
