Re: Drumming in Paris

I would probably be in the 11th arrondissement. I still have to finalize details (I would move in August/September).

Those prices aren't that bad considering what I've paid before for studio time....

Re: Drumming in Paris

I figured it would cost a lot to rent a space, and I doubt I'd have the money being a student.

Do they have rehearsal studios (like the Drummers Collective in NYC) in Paris specifically aimed at...

Drumming in Paris

I was just recently accepted to study abroad in Paris, and I now must deal with the problem of finding a place to play my drums in a new city.

I am sure Paris has an extremely developed music...

Thomas Pridgen (new Mars Volta drummer)

Once again, The Mars Volta has a new drummer.

After the loss of Jon Theodore, the unethusiastic joining of Blake Flemming, and the brief appearance of Deatoni Parks, The Mars Volta has added their...

Re: Brian Blade

I love Brian Blade's playing.

His work on Joshua Redmans's "Elastic" and "Momentum" are amazing. You can instantly recognize his sound.

His solo project ("Fellowship") also sounds amazing....

Re: Things you hate to have happen while drumming

These are the biggest things I hate to happen (worst being #1):

1.) Sticks sliding out of my hand or getting caught under a rim and then flying away.

2.) Hitting yourself in the hand with a...

Re: Bobby Jarzombek here!

Hey Bobby, welcome to the site.
Your an awesome player and I like your interesting cymbal set up with the crashes behind you. It's funny seeing someone hitting a cymbal behind their head without...

Re: Travis Barker

I believe his mom died at a pretty young age, which would be tough for anyone.

I can't believe how he gets such a bad rap from drummers here. Most of you just see people ragging on him and jump...

Re: Steve Morrison - pro drum tech (Tommy Lee)

Yeah but I would think use grip tape on his sticks would cause for more blisters since if there is any open skin rubbing against that rough surface it would cause for them to form.
Or is there some...

Re: Steve Morrison - pro drum tech (Tommy Lee)

Hey Steve, thanks a lot for answering so many of these questions. You've answered a lot of questions that I've had, and there isn't really much left over to ask but I'll ask anyway:

1.) How does...

Re: Jon theodor

Jon Theodore is my favourite drummer on the scene right now. I am totally sucked in by everything he does, plays, or says. So basically I can have endless comments to say about him right now.

I...

Last night I saw The Mars Volta and System of a Down in concert in Toronto, and I was must say it was an amazing show. Both bands tore up the stage with so much energy, power, and sheer excitement.

Tre Cool has his on page on Drummerworld, but I don't think he's actually ever been on the forums.

Re: Most Under-rated Drummers

I listen to those clips from Amazon.com and in all of them there isn't really that much drumming. When there is though, he has a pretty cool sound that fits into the music well.

Re: zach hill

The video takes extremely long to load.

His drums are so low to the ground it's crazy. I'm suprised his hi-hat doesn't hit his knee.

Re: Most Under-rated Drummers

The drummer of Oasis. I think their drummer is Zach Starkey (Ringo's son), but I'm not sure. Either way he keeps an awesome beat and has a great sound.

Re: I'm here! - Billy Ward

Welcome Mr. Billy Ward!

You kick ass at the drums. I wish I could sound like you do.

I know, that's the whole point of thread. It's all about those drummers who are probably amazing but never get a chance to really shine because of the music they play. I've heard old material of...
