Ludwig 70's super sensitive?

About 4 months ago I was given a really old ludwig snare drum from the high school I graduated from because it wasn't on their inventory. It looked old and beat up, and the chrome was kinda bubbling...

You could get a putty knife and a hair dryer and slowly heat the area while using your putty knife to peel off the wrap. I've done this with great results on some old drums.

You might find cheaper drum parts at www.drummaker.com or maybe even musiciansfriend.com - although they now own guitar center - or maybe it's the other way around.
