I sing backup & do some lead in my band, I use a round base mic stand, tripods are hard to tuck away on stage it also has a gooseneck with a Shure Beta 58.

If it's all original with the snare frame and great condition you could get about $400-$500 approx. not original $150-$200 for a Rogers Dynasonic good luck.

I think a cargo van is you're best bet the transit connect is a good choice for being a fuel efficient vehicle. those old astro vans are cheap and you can put a lot of gear in them but not as fuel...

I recommend the 6.5 x 14 Ludwig Superlite also, Wished I would've got one a long time ago.
it's economical & sounds great...best of both worlds....lol

A concert tom type kit could be easier to transport at least take up less room in the van,truck,etc.

I second the Supralite just got it last week (6.5x14) and love it if you can get for $150 kinda of a no-brainer.

you'll have a extra $200 approx for something else.

I'm with audio, the Glyn Johns 3 mic technique works wonders he used large condenser mics though but the 57's shouldn't. be too bad. he recorded Bonham's drums like that on Led-Zeppelin1. google or...
