Re: RIP Ray Manzarek
I'm really saddened to hear that. Well I remember playing the Doors first album and being startled by the newness of it.

Re: Let's talk about scams.
There has to be more to it than what he had to say about it. Jeff Ocheltree is an established brand name in the drum equipment business. I can't see him willfully throwing that away for $2500.

Re: The thread to derail the thread derail thread
I'll tell you what science should really be working on, and that is a substitute for water, for when all the water is either gone or too polluted to drink. They should do that one, and then figure...

Re: SERIOUSLY, though ...
You know, maybe the time to perform shirtless is when you're in your fifties and sixties. Can you imagine that, all these guys with their boobs and their guts and their weird-looking skin and the...

Re: SERIOUSLY, though ...
There's a band from Portland called the Dandy Warhols. The keyboard player, Zia something, has performed shirtless. I've seen footage of it. She's there on stage, playing keyboards with her pretties...

Re: Playing music no one else wants to.
I did sort of the same thing. Got some good players together, showed them my tunes, we rehearsed, recorded, played a few gigs, played the jazz festival, and that was it. No more band. Okay, my music...

Re: Ridiculously oversized kits
Okay, but this didn't sound like much of a "professional" gig. What it looked to me to be was some white-collar guys who like to play rock star. There are some of those, you know, middle-aged guys,...

Re: Ridiculously oversized kits
And yet...
How many times on this forum do we congratulate a member for acquiring a new piece of gear, a snare drum, a cymbal, even a whole new kit, equipment that member didn't really need? How...

Re: Disposable Gear
I always used the studio's drums, and I still do when I get the work. For jingles and soundtracks and that sort of work you have no choice.
