Re: How Does Your Band Set Up on Stage?

I can see all the chicks and all the chicks can see me.

Re: Drums and beer at my first ever band tryout!

I often find that a beer before the first set makes me more relaxed and free.
I am not nervous about playing, but it gets the day job out my head and the vibe happens faster. Last night I had 2...

Re: My New Studio Setup Look at the floor space

I too have a Stealth rack(and a couple of Pearl racks), but I gotta say I nearly get a hearth attack each time I fiddle with it. Its way difficult to put together, the tubes keeps popping out of the...

Re: Sabian purchasing Crescent Cymbals

Matt, I don't for a minute dispute that. I was referring to development and marketing of the type of cymbals Crescent does. Somehow they did that with a very small organisation and Sabian didn't....

Re: Tell me about this

Swarovski. I could make a joke about this, but it may get me banned.
Let's just say it may not be the manliest kind of thing to own a snare with Swarovski crystals in it.
Btw how do they sound?

Re: Bands and tempo arguments

I have been trough that and was probably not great at playing at the correct tempo every time, speeding up fills and all the usual suspects. So I started playing every song with a click. I only...

Re: Sabian purchasing Crescent Cymbals

We Gotta respect the Crescent guys for building something Sabian couldn't do themselves.
As I have said before, Meinl with their Byzance line is putting pressure on everybody else.

Re: So the acquisitions continue.

Good product, but I dont see why it would not soon be replaced by a smartphone app. On that basis I would not invest in the tune-bot company.
BTW I am on my second tune-bot, first one stopped...

Re: DW aquires Gretsch and Latin Percussion...

I am one of those thats not so keen on the DW sound. Having said that, DW make beautiful drums and is a very innovative company. I would much rather have Gretsch owned by them than some investment...

Re: Drums suck!

The pressure would be the same everywhere inside the drum and therefore the venting ability would be the same no matter where the vent is placed.
