Does this ever happen to you?
Ive noticed that every once in a while for what could be anywhere from 1 day-2 weeks+ I can have trouble doing something that I do flawlessly and easily for litterally hours on end everyday.

Price and quality check on this DW snare ??
I've got someone who wants to trade this snare drum for my three piece Rodgers Londoner kit. I'm not sure on the value of the snare or really how to authenticate it as a genuine DW collectors snare....

Silly question about kick drum depth
So im am in love with my 24'' kick drums... the feel, the sound, the look etc. The only thing I hate about them is how difficult they are to haul around if they arent really shallow (ie 14'' deep).

Another little trick to help develop that weak hand or both hands really is to hold the stick with just the thumb and fore finger and do singles. obviously you need to utilize rebound and then start...

yeah I have the reso side off the ground some because I like to have my beater strike the batter squarely.... otherwise you really effect the rebound off the drum. don't believe me, weckl told me...

Only reason i want to go pearl is because I know those suckers are heavy and that will help hold the drum in place... it seems to wobble a lot cause its so light and I play hard.

New 24x14 kick drum is hopping....
just bought a 1976 rogers londoner kit with a 24x14 kick. the kick sounds great but it has these stupid legs that come out perpendicular to the drum and have no spikes at the bottom...combine that...

Don't get me wrong I LOVE bonham's playing and the sound of his kit in general, but his kick drum does have a bit more of a flabby less focused sound that I tend to not like.

thanks for the info KIS, so it is possible that a if all elements were kept equal except depth, that a deeper drum would be louder and more easily heard verses a shallow kick.?

This is probably going to sound like a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway... Ive really grown fond of the idea of a shallower kick drum for many reason, but one of the main ones is portability.
