Re: I will NEVER buy / own _______, and here's why.

Only thing that comes to mind are drums or drumgear stating religion in their brand name and/or promoting religious stuff; Truth, Risen, Joyful Noise etc.

Re: Supralite 8x14?

I bought a 6.5x14" for a friend and set it up for him. Really a great drum, well built and sounds wonderful after I changed the stock heads and wires it comes with. Big difference. Steel is one of my...

Re: Keeping a Supraphonic in tune.

Lug Locks. Cheap, you can buy them in bulk and they do their the job and last forever. Been using them since 1992.

Re: Yamaha Stage Custom Detuning quicker?

They do de-tune very fast. I was teaching at a school that had a 2012 SC kit and I had to tune at least once or twice during the day. But, they sound good and a few LugLocks solved the issue.

Re: Tama S.L.P G-Maple

The Tama SLP series are great snare drums for a relatively small price. Absolutely worth it.

Re: Ludwig LM400 vs LM 402

Iīve owned a few 400īs and 402īs. I absolutely love the 402 but never got to like the 400, too thin sounding to my ears. Two very different drums IMO. There is one 400 I liked more than the others,...

Re: Getting a Tama Cocktail kit- Help me choose a color finish!

The Indigo Sparkle is one of the nicest blue sparkle colours Iīve seen. Itīs very deep and rich. Under lights it really shines.

The white sparkle looks more grey, Iīve seen it up close and itīs...

Re: A question about Pearl Reference drums

The original Reference series has been a headache for Pearl. Many of their endorsers sent them back (including a friend of mine). Why? They didnīt like them. The story goes that some very...

Re: New Kit: Tama Starclassic Performer B/B Exotic

Congrats on the kit. That finish is absolutely stunning!

You will get seriously spoiled using those Speed Cobra pedals, they are amazing.

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

There is some lateral movement yes, but you donīt notice that while playing at all. Set up is a bit faster with these mounts since you donīt have to fasten a wing nut. The lateral movement is no...

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

Did you buy something else?

If you haven't and still want a B/B I would recommend talking to Shane at Drum Center of Portsmouth. His customer service is second to none and he has good contact with...

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

I second that. I merely wanted to point out that this is not the norm with these mounts. I just wish your experience would have been a pleasant one.

But hey, it's just drums

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

I should have included this in the other clip but here's a short clip where I hit a tom quite forcefully with a stick. I leave the third support point not supporting the drum as you can see in the...

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

Especially made for you my friend and any doubters. I even compared the Yamaha YESS system as I had a kit set up in the same room. This is by all means not a thorough test, just a quick demo:

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

To each his own I guess. I find the current lugs both on the Starclassic and Star the nicest since the original Superstar/Imperialstar. I was never fond of the Artstar/Granstar lugs but thatīs just...

Yes, only the Star series is made in Japan and you can still order add-on drums for your Made in Japan Starclassic kit.

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

I saw that and while not really an opinion I think either there is something at fault with this particular kit or he is pushing them with his finger rather than tapping, then they will indeed give...

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

I have played two different B/B kits with this system, one just a few days ago and I didnīt notice any unnatural wobble on the toms. I would describe the "give" similar to the original RIMS mounts....

Re: Tama Star Cast Mounts - really wobbly?

I have a Tama Star kit with said tom mounts and floor tom brackets. Indeed the floor tom is wobbly when you lay your hand on top of it and move it around. But, thatīs the way it is designed and itīs...
