Drum Teachers: have a minute?

Zydeco Help!

I have an audition with a Zydeco band on Mon....never played it before.....I can hear the general feel, but can't really hear what's going on, on the tracks.

Gretsch Catalina Jazz - strip off wrap?

Has anyone stripped the wrap off the Catalina Jazz mahogany bop set?..this is the cheapie set....2005 long lugs...but probably same for newer version short lugs...wondering what shape the wood is?......
