Re: If you want to hear the new Yamaha Live Customs...

Thanks! Just received the Black Shadow Sunburst in bop size sans snare. Wanted a mid level set for a summer home. I suspected that Yamaha wanted to make some kind of "Made in China" statement and...

Re: Sonor Safari

Still love my Black Galaxy's a year later. Something nice about not having to live up to a mega buck kit. Ludwig 402 looks pretty cool with it. Easy to play too, no reach for stuff.

Sits in...

Re: The Best Drum Brands In Order Are????

Very subjective. Do I take off points from the Sonor SQ2 because of the Safari? Worse, how do you define the boutiques ala Brady, Crav? Generally speaking and this is based for the most part on...

Re: 1963 Slingerland

As Steve would say. "Insane". Lot's of good and available names out there. WFL, Leedy, Slniglerland, Leedy and Ludwig. You would think somebody would run with these iconic brands.

Re: Early 50's Rock n Roll - No Floor Tom?

First drum set (no "kits" back then) in the 50's was a wmp Slingerland with no FT. Thought I had it all. Haha, maybe with a double pedal that's all we really need.

Re: Yamaha PHX am i missing something?

Pulled up the PHX and the Sakae on MDS. Listened to both, 18/12/14 sans snare. The Sakae is about two grand less and imo sound better. Not to mention looks better.

Interesting, all kinds of...

Re: Drumset with small sizes

Interesting topic. I too have the Sonor Safari and except for the pretty much throwaway snare, absolutely love it Something about it that makes it so inviting to play. The hardware is excellent...

Re: Why no modern single/3-ply shells?

Sakae's Trilogy line might be worth a look. Assuming they are available. yet.

Shell 3 ply maple popular maple
60 degree edge

Interesting line of drums. Not a new company, just a new...

Re: Emmanuelle Caplette is Getting Even Better

She's good, not quite Cindy yet but impressive, fluid. Is that a wig?

Re: What brand of kit do you play?

Tama-Japan. Quality, versatility, flat out looks. Old school here, got over the Ludwig, Gretsch, Leedy USA whatever. Their own fault. Tama is the safest kit, bar none.

Re: Hand Injury Problems

Been there, all the above, chiro, massage, and a quack. You need a neurologist to conduct a nerve teat. Not much fun, but in my case she revealed CTS which was corrected with surgery. Different, is...

Re: Which is harder Guitar or Drums?

Guitar, not to mention wife said I had a horrible voice. So back of the band I remain.

As someone else said, it's a natural selection. I can play the drums, no problem. As for guitar, no way,...

Re: Gretsch renown '57 or Tama superstar Hyper Drive or something else

Can't wait any longer for the 57 Coral and Gray version. About to pull the trigger on the red bop. Imagine with Sabian brilliants. Lot of sellers, but I am willing to pay a few more bucks to get...

Re: Ringo Starr... Good or bad?

Amazes me he continues to make every GOAT list. Good groove and musicality but horribly deficient in raw talent. A week 7 out of 10.

Re: Gretsch Renown 57 in Red, and a bop kit!

Off the charts. The fusion kit was priced at $1957 (lol). So what's the deal on this baby?

Re: Am I suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

With all due respect for alternative treatments, you can get instant relief from surgery. Minimally invasive, go home same day w/o CTS.

Re: Am I suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Well...I tried all the alternate stuff, the cats paw, chiropractors, yoga and then finally accepted the fact that I was in denial. Had the surgery 5 years ago with 100% recovery.

See the...

Re: Am I suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Likely, especially if the little finger feels normal. Go to neurologist who will give you a nerve conduction test. The only effective remedy that I've found is surgery.
