PAHAHAHAA, you're welcome!

One of these days, I'm going to stick a bat up your nightie ;)

Re: When you're in charge, which songs ...

Chicken, I'm the fluffiest pinkest person I know. I don't do banning of anything less than FGM. It was intended to be a light-hearted post whilst Radio 2 was being inflicted on me.

Re: When you're in charge, which songs ...

I don't think I've ever heard Miley Cyrus (can that be a real name? Like, really real?).

Doing it, Mitch!

Re: When you're in charge, which songs ...

It means I've been awake for far too long, and I may have had a drinkette. And yes, you are absolutely right about Achey Breaky Heart. Ugh.

Re: When you're in charge, which songs ...

No, not on a Friday night when I've been fielding text messages from mini-Madge since 4 a.m.

If 8Mile knows what I mean, everybody else should too :)

Re: Spousal Static - A mini Rant

I couldn't agree more, but it's about our OHs' perception of "total strangers". We have no absolute right to entrust them to our internet friends. Which doesn't mean that our internet friends don't...

When you're in charge, which songs ...

... will you ban?

We're here: you've been voted in by a landslide, in a free and fair democratic vote. You've achieved world peace, and you've cured All Known Diseases. It's time you turned your...

J'ai également aimé lire en français.

Re: The Musical Drummer, part 1.

I found that to be a well-written piece packed full of information and examples. It didn't take anything for granted and it didn't patronise either. Good job, Daniel!

Re: More creative drumming with a cape on?

Kilts are divine. I've yet to see a man who didn't look good in one.

Re: Spousal Static - A mini Rant

I agree with a vast amount of what STXBob says, but I have an alternative view of some parts:

Not necessarily. Mr Madge wouldn't like it either. He doesn't "get" internet forums and doesn't...

Re: Drumming and Diabetes

Not Type 1, certainly. As for Type 2, the main cause as I understand it is being overweight. If drumming for 1.5 hours a day enables you to maintain your ideal weight then it might help.

You'd...

Re: Could have been awkward #2

Could easily have been an "Are You Being Served?" moment ...

Yeah, you have to wonder why I never thought of that, don't you?!

It was very much like that - quite surreal in the civility...

Re: Online shopping and research

I use brand names too, and I use the terminology I employ in everyday life, naively assuming that Google will know what I mean.

Re: Could have been awkward #2

Oh sorry, I didn't make it clear: it was good old Mr Madge who didn't bat an eyelid. The poor Very Nice Young Man blushed. Hehehe.

Kim Novak looks as if somebody is telling her what to do while...

Could have been awkward #2

Today my teacher brought a cajon for me to have a go at as I'd never played one before.

Picture the scene: I'm sitting on it, in the conventional manner, while he is bending down in front of me...

Re: Spousal Static - A mini Rant

Oh wow, horrific!

I'm glad that's "all" it was, but nobody ever gets used to it. If she's anything like me, your wife either has no idea that she's being unreasonable, or else she knows she's...

Re: How our perspective changes

Separated at birth, were James and I.

I also felt inhibited because I lacked confidence. You tend not to be like that when you're in your teens! Adults often feel vulnerable as learners, because...

Re: Spousal Static - A mini Rant

Mr Madge was a bit uncomfortable when I started wanting to play with other people. I don't think he was worried about any sort of relationships forming, as he knows I only have eyes for him even...

Re: Potential drummer; have a maybe controversial question

Check out the Gretsch Catalina. I have no experience of the Pearl you mention but I can wholeheartedly recommend the Gretsch. I don't know how affordable used ones are, but I'll lay money that it's a...

Re: More creative drumming with a cape on?

And Andy was still wearing it last week, ladies and gentlemen. He had more hair in those days, though.

Re: Potential drummer; have a maybe controversial question

You can buy rubber pads that fit over your drums and deaden the sound, without significantly affecting the feel.

My one plea: whatever you need, ask your local music shop first, before you head to...

Re: More creative drumming with a cape on?

Sparkly, of course.
