I've used the resonant shell style as well. I try to find the harmonic with both heads muted and work to that, with generally positive success. Will have to try the free floating singing method...

A class action had been filed this year due to the gator cases, both soft and hard. Problem is rife here in Australia. Good to see Gator standing by their product and issuing financial solutions.
