he tells it here...

understood

but I think your problem is that you are stuck on this mythical "grid" and not thinking about just playing music

I completely disagree that this "grid" is the best way to start...

Re: Trouble playing rock stuff

that is an extreme generalization that is pretty much untrue

there is just as much rock music that swings and is syncopated than there is that doesn't

as a matter of fact ... up until Little...

Re: Bid like a man!

not a good look

Re: Bid like a man!

the only way to bid is when time remaining goes under 2 minutes .

in all honesty how you are bidding is...

drummers that come out of the church playing praise music ......

Re: Who are some tasteful gospel drummers?

gospel drummers are players who came out of the church playing praise music... they tend to have a very distinct flavor

not a whole lot different than a gospel singer.... Whitney Houston for...

Re: So should you never bounce doubles?

what it means is USE the rebound don't RELY on the rebound

be in control the entire time and not at the mercy of the surface

Re: How to naturally play quieter?

stick weight should make zero difference in your ability to play soft

it's in your hands not your stick ... don't be the carpenter blaming his tools

focus on touch
