Re: Mapex Pro M vs. ???

I have no idea if they sound good or not, and they're probably not even in stores yet, but on the 18th Pearl released a maple Export set to try and beat the Tour Customs.

Re: Im thinking of buying an electric kit, please help.

Yeah Yamaha has some nice electronic kits, I don't know why they use the rubber pads even on their high end kits because I really like the feel of the mesh heads that Roland, Hart, and Pintech make....

Re: What profesional drummer's setup do u admire most?

I would either go with the Bruford SDX setup because the SDX systems are almost impossible to find. This one:

Or the entire current Danny...

Re: Most Under-rated Drummers

I think that Chris Vrenna is an extremely under-rated musician. His work with Nine Inch Nails is just incredible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he was still in NIN when they wrote The...

Re: What profesional drummer's setup do u admire most?

My favorites are Danny Carey's Paiste kit, Neil Peart's current setup, and Scott Travis's set with the 24x24 bass drums. And Bruford's kit with the SDX pads all over.

Re: Tuning my Kick Drum

If you want to stop ring completely with new heads you want an Evans EQ3 with one or even two EQ pads on the batter. For resonant head go with a head like an EQ3 that has a hole in it or for even...

Re: Drum Room Dampening

For complete soundproofing people go as far as adding walls filled with acoustic foam, insulation, then sheetrock and drywall. If a floor is too resonant floors are raised. And doors are padded with...

Re: Blisters...bad technique?

I too have a blister problem that happens sometimes. I grip my sticks fine except the side of my thumbs are resting on the sticks too much, and I get blisters there. When I feel/see a blister...

Snare Tilted Forward

I noticed that in both a Dave Black and Buddy Rich solo video they had their snares tilted forward, Does anyone do this anymore? Did they do this to get more bounce to their rack toms for faster...

Re: Kit Questions

Yamaha has a big drum selection. They're some of the best out there, but they're pretty expensive. Also check out the Mapex Orion Burl Wood, they're some of the best looking drums I've ever seen. I...

Re: Best mass produced kit for about $2500

From what I've been told all of DW's shells are made in their factory there except the 26" bass which is made by keller.

Re: Drum muting...

Evans has a Sound Off silencer line. They have less rebound so it's slightly harder to play which gives you extra endurance with them off. All you do it rest the pad on the top drum head. Only...
