Re: Snare depth preference

I think so. I mean why else would they make different sizes?

Yeah so anyway my main wood snares are 14x8 bubinga and 14x8 g maple. My main metal snare is 14x6.5. I always thought those were the...

Re: Snare depth preference

Definitely 6.5 or 7 on a steel shell or any metal shell. A 14x8 on a maple shell. For my style and the way I have tuned my drums. I would go with a 14x6.5 or 14x7 metal shell anyday. For an accessory...

Re: THE GOOD SNARE THREAD

The lugs on the Lars snare look better and it looks like it would be easier to tune. Anyway I will try to check out both when I go to The Drum Pad if they have both. I'll see what sounds better. That...

Re: Lars Ulrich

I like Lars. He's a pretty solid drummer and fit Metallica perfectly. He had a little unique style going for him in the 80's. I mean I would try to learn a song and be like "that's pretty cool. If I...

Re: Vinnie Paul

Vinnie was never one of my favorites, but still a great metal drummer at that. He wasn't one of the best double bass players, but he could still kick it and make some surprisingly sweet grooves for...

Re: THE GOOD SNARE THREAD

Thanks and yeah I was checking out Vinnie's snare and it only comes in a snakeskin color which would not go with my kit at all. Anyway I'm really starting to like Lars' snare and it's got good...

Re: Drum muting...

Get drum pads to cover your snare, toms, bass and stuff or just simply don't play as loud or shove a blanket under the door. Haha sorry that's all I could come up with.

I'm currently really looking into the Lars signature series. 14x6.5. 3mm diamond plated steel. Looks like it would really crack and work perfectly for the intense...

Re: Is 15 too old to start playing?

I don't think any age is too young to start drumming as long as you have anough money to spend on a decent starting kit and you are willing to apply yourself. I mean starting at a younger age is...
