meridian or catalina??

ive decided to upgrade from my premier olympics and have the choice between the gretsch catalina maple and the new mapex meridian maple.

the gretsch is 130 quid cheaper even when ive bought...

i would say premier artist birch because its just above the other kits however if you can stump for the artist maple get it as it booms. if your in Britain it wont be that hard to get your hands on...

im grade 7 trumpet as well as pretty good at drums (if i may say so myself) but i also play tenor horn and piano (both pretty decently) but someone i know is past grade 8 on piano sax clarinet violin...

or once youve dropped the stick keep playing with one hand wave at the audience with the other and get the crowd going. this only works with simple beats though.

well in comparison pearl export is not a begginner kit compared to the premier olympic because th olympic is like 250 new and a pearls like 500 new and i wnat to upgrade cymabsl as well.

once ive soold all my stuff i would probably be looking to buy a used pearl export or elx 10 12 14 22 drum sizes and cymabsl im not sure about yet could do with some ideas . im thinking sabian aax...

i think ive got the latest version of the book and apparently there are rave patterms thats are added and a a double bass cobined with china pattern excercise included.
of course not having the 1972...

yeah loads of fusion sized kits sound good when tuned agressively for high end punch. and you get better positioning over the base drum if your gettinga 22" because i always feel that 12" and 13"...

get it as a rack tom
becasue if you get a floor tom it has to be a floor tom always whereas a rack tom could be mounted as a floor tom or as a rack tom

ah ha moment for me was when i got a crappy kids drum kit from a mate when i stared playing he came round and immediatly turned the snare stand upside down as i had been restin the snare on the feet...

drum grades have helped me a lot my teacher and i basically just do them and playing along to songs etc

talking of skipping its good bacuase you dont have to put all the effort into a grade if...
