Re: Help me identify Premier set

I disagree strongly with the sound of an APK. I gigged out with an APK for a long time and it was a work horse and I received complements constantly from sound guys and other drummers on their...

Re: Ever have a drums finish sway you away from purchasing it?

We need to be able to plus one posts. Those are beautiful.

On topic... The reason I don't own a set of Ludwig Signets is because of the finish. That's a fact.

Re: Neil Peart

Oh, I still appreciate NP for what he is and what he's contributed. This was simply a point on one particular issue.

Often songs are written almost on the fly. People get a song they never saw...

Re: Kickport, does it really make a difference??

I'll tell you what, my 22x16 goes in my backseat a Hell of a lot easier than my 22x18. My 26x14 goes in a lot easier for that matter. So bulky. Every picture on the walls in the hallway is in...

Re: Kickport, does it really make a difference??

I had a four inch hole in my reso that split a little on me. I was able to get a kickport and a reso for the same price as what I would have paid for the reso alone. So I got the kickport and was...

Re: Neil Peart

People seem to be on both sides of the fence with the fact that he plays everything note for note.

The way I see it, a song is constantly evolving. What you lay down in the studio is the song in...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

Wife just surprised me with Paiste 2002 15" Sound Edge hats over the weekend.

Love them.

LOVE THEM.

Much different feel though than my 14 Dark Ks and 14 New Beats. Stick definition is not...

Re: Peavey Radial Pro 501 for $180?

Unbelievable. Why do I never find a deal like this?

I ALWAYS wanted a set of those Peavys. Just loved the way they sounded.

Re: Help me choose which thread to read about which kit to buy

I can definitely agree that you need to try them all out if at all possible.

I went to Dales Drum Shop expecting to come home with a set of Ludwig Maple Customs or maybe Signets. It was pretty...

Re: Re-training My foot? My pedal? Both?

I was playing funk at the show which is probably what I am most comfortable playing... I play a lot of different stuff at the house/practice with new cover band.

A bit of alcohol could have done...

Re: Re-training My foot? My pedal? Both?

Thanks for the reply. It doesnt hurt to check out this stuff. I have the same throne for the past 15 years and I paid 200 dollars for it because I realized the importance of a good throne. Its...

Re: Re-training My foot? My pedal? Both?

This is exactly how I feel and to top it off the room I play in at my house sounds terrible also. Cheap rug, no padding underneath, terrible accoustics.

Thanks... this makes me feel better that...

Re: Mid/high level kits.

I'll add that just about every Mapex endorser plays Saturns and DW has endorsers playing the Performance series.... so I would consider them high end pro level kits. I would also put the Renowns in...

Re: Looking for solid value kit on a $1500-$1700 budget.

While I agree with this... IF you can nab the used pro level kit and less PRO cymbals at first... I still think its easier to add more pro level cymbals after the fact than to swap out an...

Re: Looking for solid value kit on a $1500-$1700 budget.

Of course if you wanted more cymbals right off the bat then I agree with the overall sentiment of the thread.

If you could live with less to start though... its is easier to add cymbals than to...

Re: Looking for solid value kit on a $1500-$1700 budget.

You cant order from Guitar Center? You dont have to go to the brick and mortar... they wont ship to Canada?

Even if you cant, I am trying to give you an idea of the quality you SHOULD expect out...
