Re: Tour Time
Good luck. 6 weeks is a LONG time in one stretch for me. I try to stay positive and remember 1hr is the playing and 23hrs are dealing with these people personally.

Re: What were you doing at half your age?
I just started at Berklee in Boston. I was playing in this band that played 2-4 days a week (THUR-SUN) somewhere between DC and NH while I was attending classes. We were pretty terrible, but we had a...

Re: My first stadium/arena gig tomorrow!
Good luck.
The interesting thing to me about huge shows, I never get nervous for them. On the other hand, I've gotten nervous from time to time when I played a real small venue when in the...

Re: Tight bond, are hoarder?
Mine was a piece, but someone stole it anyway. I do not miss it. I have pics.
My second kit, cost my life savings at 16. It burned to the ground in college. I do not miss it. I have pics.
My...

Re: Future of Music
Playing on jingles are way of the past, no? At least to the extent it used to be.
I believe programming is a big part as well as bands leasing their songs. Though many have done it in years...

Re: Half time shuffles
I love Fool in the Rain, but Toto and whatever that was at the end of Pocaro's lesson drained me.

Re: Worst idea in Drumming
I just realized how this was, but I commented never the less.
Playing live, I agree with you but I loved mine for recording.
Not the most comfortable things to set-up either.
Mind you I...

Re: Evil Metronome
I can give you a visual. The best analogy I can state is when you are playing on top of the beat and not rushing, it feels like a freight train at a consistent MPH. When you are on top and rushing it...

Re: Evil Metronome
I found people have posted a few songs of my band Palomar in there. The interesting thing is, on the newest record Sense & Antisense, there were only 2 tracks I used one in. Here is how you can find...

Re: Evil Metronome
I think in a lot of ways he is right. There is something organic about playing to a natural pulse. I wish we all could all o the time. Unfortunately, due to the new industry standards, I think it is...

Re: Getting a scholarship at Berklee?
Going to college definitely opens your doors to many roots no matter which type of college you choose.
This is tough to say being I am a graduate of Berklee. Being I know the industry the way I...

Re: Getting a scholarship at Berklee?
I think that is off. http://www.berklee.edu/financial-aid/cost-of-attendance.html/
I heard it was out of control since I left and people are not kidding. When I went in the mid 90's it was $7000...

Re: Why are metal drummers looked down on?
I do not care what in life it is that people do, people want respect & appreciation. When they do not get it, some people lash out in an aggressive or passive manner. I believe it all comes down to a...
