Re: Daddy's Junky Music

Never had issues with the store. We have one in a neighboring town and I will often stop in when I need something in a pinch. I prefer to buy things online. Buying sticks, heads, and basic things...

Re: Musicians need to learn how to say NO

My band doesn't have this issue. Our talent and playing ability has never really been the reason we don't get shows when we want them. It has more to do with exposure I think. To me, you need to do a...

Re: Drummerworld help needed...

I would think that heating up a puddy knife or scraper would speed up the scraping process. I would be hesitant about adding any solvent that is powerful enough to break down the glue to the drum...

Re: To those that can read music

It helps a lot, even if you don't read a lot when you play. I learned early on in my life and used it till I was out of highschool. When I joined the band I am in new, its all original material, so...

Re: Double Bass help/dream theater

I wouldn't bother with using the heel-toe if you only have a little time to learn the song. Portnoy never goes super fast in Panic Attack anyways. Heel-toe seems to be for when you're legs literally...

Re: Any Wierd Drum Habits???

Before everytime we play a song, I have a weird habit of making sure every member of the band is ready to play by pointing a stick at each member individually and asking if they are ready.
Too many...

Re: Pro M discontinued

Thats unfortunate for Pro M owners like myself. If I ever want to expand my kit in the future, which I was hoping i'd be able to do, I don't want to have to get a tom of the new line with new badges...

Re: Anyone else have this problem with a Mapex M Birch snare?

I had luck eliminating the ring from my Mapex Pro M snare by using a Evans EC Reverse Dot head. No moon gel needed ever. Sounds awesome. It gets my vote. Plus, it looks super cool.

The Chad Smith snare rules. My friend has it. I am rather jealous. I highly recommend it.

Re: 36" Bass Drum!

I suggest mounting a pair of rack toms on top if you decide to convert it into a kick for fun. I think that would hilarious.

Re: something to help slipping sticks!

Agreed. I never got around to trying it, but I rock climb a lot and the stuff really works. You can buy a block in your local adventure store for a buck fifty. Its worth a try. You'll only be out...

Re: Yamaha vs. Mapex

I own a Mapex Pro M 6-piece kit. I love it. No problems. The hardware has proved itself road-worthy and the drums sound great for the price.

That being said...

My dream kit is a Yamaha. Why? My...

Re: The grooviest groove?

Toto - Rosanna. Its hard to live up to that groove.

This may not be a complete song, but Dennis Chambers pretty has the groove thing down:
