Re: Advice about drum grades
I did the grades, passed Rockschool 6 and jumped straight to 8 which I'm studying for now. There's no point doing grade 1 if you've been playing for that number of years seriously it would be an exam...

Re: Jack White
He has a few toms actually just low, he's using 2002s, 24" crash 24" ride and 2x 16" crashes as hats.

Re: Updated Travis Barker
I'm glad he's back to drumming, but I wonder why he didn't do the fill intro at the start of 'rock show'. A really fun drummer to watch.
But Blink 182 really aren't 'the genesis' of punk rock...

Re: Feel or Technique, importance?
I think for a drummer to spend a lot of time getting their technique right, they must enjoy playing the drums so much that feel must be a part of their drumming in some way.
Drummers which have...

Re: Rehearsals and repetition
I think recording and making sure people are listening to your tunes at home etc, or on their ipods is a good idea. I'v learnt my band's songs without practising just through listening to them a lot...

Re: The Essential Eight Checklist
In my area people only really take 'breakables' snare cymbals and bass drum pedal so that's all I take to a gig. Unless I'm headlining.

Re: Keeping time isn't important!
If you're in a band and don't use a click then im almost 100% that you aren't just gonna be uninvited to the next band meeting and subsequently told not to come to the next recording. I read that...

Re: Can someone give me advice on a drum kit
The best advice I can give is to simply sit and read through a few drummerworld threads. Post when you feel you need to, but when getting new drum gear reading and absording a few decent threads is...

Re: Pre-packs
I got given my kit, snare, hardware and cymbals and have gradually improved my gear besides the shells themselves. I now am at a point where if I bought a kit I would only want a kit, not hardware...

Re: Funk drum kit
Keep your eyes open for a Premier Signia, professional quality drums that pop up every once in a while in your price range. I'd look on ebay.

Re: Last snare drum... for a while
I'd go for a Brady 14" / 6.5" Jarrah Block snare, check the sound clips on youtube, or listen to any Kings of Leon recordings or live shows. It sounds so good.

Re: Nathan Followill
I thought it was 13" 16" 18" 22" and a 14" / 6.5" Brady Jarrah Block snare. There's a few elastic bands holding the snares on as well if you look closely.

Re: The British or the Americans?
You got given facts and responded with the same argument as before, you can't just say 'AC/DC' are Australian because I'm going to ignore one of their members.
As for British or American, I...
