Re: How do you mark your stands?

I use a label maker to make a 1, 2 and 3 for my floor tom legs, and for the drum itself. I cut out the tiny numbers, and wrap a small piece of clear tape around on the legs at my preferred height...

Re: DIE CAST HOOPS

I used maple hoops for ab 2 years, and they definitely get the job done if you want to tone down a snare. I use diescasts now.

Can't believe I didn't get these sooner. Completely woke the drum...

Re: How many cymbals have you cracked/broken/split in your drumming lifetime?

I've broken about a dozen, 2 were Z customs, 2 were stamped, and the rest are A and K Zildjians. In terms of Hi Hats, one 15" A zildjian sweet top. Still sound good though even with all the...

Re: Royalties

My old man made a few double bass drumming videos on Hot Licks back in the 80's.

When my folks divorced, my mom got 100% of said royalties from my dad (he kept everything else from signature...

Re: Advice on Ludwig Classic Maple Order

I've got my classic maple series for sale in the classified section. If it's something you like I don't mind shipping to UK, although I'd bet it be a serious hit to the wallet for a 26" kick. Just...

Re: How do I need to tune my snare (and toms) to get them to sound like this?

Looks like that guy has that kit taped up and choked, sounds that way too.

Is that kick a 26"?

EDIT: I don't know how I feel ab this guy.....I didn't really appreciate this, seems like he's...

Re: Changing your set up for mic position?

In the past I've been forced to make small adjustments, especially to my snare. Not only that, but I used maple hoops for a while, so the flange clip mics wouldn't work. I'd have to use a different...

Re: PDP CX kit

I played a blue onyx CX in college for about a year and felt so fortunate to be playing such a nice sounding kit. I tried to buy it off the guy a few times w no success.

I just played a show w a...

Re: So I permanently messed up my hearing, need some advice!

You don't need super expensive ear plugs to get the job done. I use hearo-s and they do fine. Sometimes it's a little more protection than what I want, but you can kind of adjust how much of your...

Re: Ear drops for ringing ears?

Never heard of a quick fix for tinnitus. My old man, a surgeon, doesn't think so either.

Re: New kit help!!!

Check out the classic maple ludwigs!

I've got a set and they're amazing. I play rock and my sizes are 26x16, 13x10, 16x16.

The classic configuration for rock is around those sizes, give or...

Re: What do you think about the DW Drums Logo?

My fave of all time was the Gretsch round badge. The Gretsch logo for bass heads is also so cool and classic.

I love the keystone badge and the 60's Ludwig script for bass drum heads.

I really...

Re: oversized/deeeeeep kick drums

Agreed with Adam ^

I have a 26x16 and reallllly wish it was a 14. That drum takes a lot of finesse to get nice, solid, clear strokes out of. Of course it's on a non ported head, but I'm kind of...
