Re: tama superstar classics? maple?

They are "suppose" to be like the original superstars of the 70/80's. Only thing is that original ones were birch.

these are imo an attempt to compete in the intermid market with the pdp maple...

Re: tama superstar classics? maple?

Its def not gonna be the same maple used on the starclassics. Remember, they are probably made in china thats cuts the cost down alot, they dont come with diecast hoops, probably unfinished insides...

Re: New Kit DW Performance

Mine dont have them either (eco-x). i assume they come on bassdrums that have toms attached to the top (for added support) kind of like the support plate that works in conjuction with the tom mounts...

Re: Snare question: 8 vs 10 lug differences?

Re: Snare question: 8 vs 10 lug differences?

From what ive been reading, this seems true. Notice that people put one on the batter side and keep a regular hoop on the snare side to get some ring. I may try die cast on both though

Snare question: 8 vs 10 lug differences?

What are the advantages of 10 over 8?
Would 8 be considered entry/intermid and 10 pro/high end?
Does it really even matter?

I have both. Just wanted to know

edited: and die-cast hoops too!

Re: How big of a difference do drum heads make?

First, Congrats on the new kit!
