Re: Dave Weckl
Or Frank Gambale's Thinking out Loud. Don't know whether its been discussed, can't be bothered with whole thread, but any Weckl fans who don't have this yet need it. A brilliant side to him.

Re: Gavin Harrison here!
Hi Gavin,
I was wondering if you could answer a question me and a friend have. We were wondering what kind of snare you used on Mellotron Scratch on Deadwing? It doesn't sound like an acoustic...

Re: Long Hours Practicing
Ok dude. Well if you've recently started these long sessions, then maybe the reason you're burning out is just down to you not being used to them? You say you're going to music college in the fall,...

Re: Dennis Chambers
dc35@aol.com is an email address provided in the CAB cd booklets, so I guess it's worth a shot.
On a side note, if any Dennis fans don't have the CAB cds, buy them.

Re: Thomas Lang
I've heard Thomas Lang has relocated from London to LA. I'm really hoping now that he's in LA that we'll get some decent music from him. Like an interesting sideproject, or gigs at the Baked Potato....

Re: Virgil Donati
Think of it like this .... the Baked Potato is to good drumming what Florence was to the Renaissance. I've haven't been, but the amount of good bands and drummers frequenting that club is amazing.

Re: Virgil Donati
Yeah, well the problem is that I live in London so ... I guess I'd have to build a visit to BP into a holiday, if I ever have that much money.
I guess I shouldn't complain. Last year I saw two...

I'd love to see him at the Baked Potato. Who was he playing with? Even Vinnie admits to going to see Virg there, and being in complete awe.

Re: Marco Minnemann
Hey Womble,
I see what you're saying. Personally, out of all of the 'super' drummers, like Lang, Mangini, Donati etc, I'd say that Marco is the most musical as well. I remember the first time I...

Sorry Womble. Zeldman was doing all of Marco's stuff way back. I think Marco is a fantastic drummer, and I really enjoy his musicality. As...

I love his drumming. Somehow manages to play perfectly for the song all of the time, with an amazing touch, whilst at the same time giving his parts a techincal and challenging edge. And he has a...

It's the balance between his "cookie monster vocals" and mellow vocals that make the band for me.
But anyway, yeah he's a good drummer. Very tasteful. Knows exactly when to release his deadly...

I heard that he has swapped over his remote hi hats ...in other words that the left pedal controls the hats on the right, and the right pedal controls the hats on the left. Can anyone justify this?...
