Re: The Best Drummer in the World

Yes, but the gov't prevents this from happening by putting Flouride in our water which calcifies the Pineal Gland and thusly closing the Third Eye. Our intelligence hasn't exactly flourished in this...

Re: The Best Drummer in the World

It is Gil Gilbert. I think we've all established that a long time ago, so I don't understand what all this discussion is about.

Re: Does independence just click one day?

Yup. I woke up one day and everything just clicked. That's exactly how it works. Like magic.

Re: Playing Someone Else's Kit

I had to play another drummer's kit last Saturday and rather enjoyed it. It was a little different set-up than mine, but it was comfortable. The reason I liked it was because he had a nice old Fibes...

Re: Stoopid drum deal of the day: Sonor Jungle

Re: Why the "hate" for nylon tips??

I had to play another drummer's kit last night at a gig. I used my wood tip sticks because I didn't want to leave any nylon markings on his cymbals. That's one thing about nylon is the little marks...

Re: Why the "hate" for nylon tips??

I used nylon tips almost exclusively for years. It's only been recently that I've been using wood tip also. I've had a few tips come off, but not for years has this happened. I think the major...

Re: Linear "Bonham" Triplets poll and discussion

Probably they are Bonham Triplets because of his extensive use of them in songs and solos. Just a theory...

Re: Am I sitting correctly?

Just sit straight up with your belly is about 6 inches behind the snare, your right leg not pointed straight at the bass drum, and your height should be just to where your upper legs are just above...

Re: Do Youtube Drum Covers Influence What/How You Play?

Not at all because I hardly watch them. My drumming and creativity comes from a deep inner groove set in my mind and body through hours of practice and performance, not some video on You Tube.

Re: The 2015 funky Guru snare competition starts now! Entry details :)

Thanks, Andy. Yup, it was that little pesky Facebook "like" thing you have to check before the page becomes operational. Never would have thought of that because it's not obvious that that was the...

Re: How hard is it to start playing well?

And when the day comes where once in awhile total strangers will compliment your playing after a gig , then you'll know you're finally getting somewhere with the drums.

I'm a self-taught drummer....

Is Ringo a good drummer?

I think he is. What makes him great is his creativity. Did it all come from him? From what I've heard, he wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles.

Just kidding, this forum is so dull and...

Re: Methods for feeling or visualizing time?

I certainly don't visualize time. I guess I feel the time in my head somewhere between there and my kick pedal. I suppose the best way to describe it would be to say that I always know where the ones...
