Re: Tama Star = $$$$

What I don't understand is the price difference I'm seeing. Forks has a bubinga set that's 10/12/14/16/22/snare for $9300. Dale's has a similar set minus the snare and they're selling it for $7400....

Re: Tell me your favorite Phil Collins' songs to play

Nice to see Phil getting some cred on here. All of these are great suggestions. I like Genesis "Fading Lights." Lots of good stuff in there. Phil is reason I learned to play fully left-handed. ...

Re: who needs to spend the extra money?

About a year ago I bought a Yamaha Stage Custom 5pc shell pack off of craigslist for $200 and it's honestly one of the best sounding kits I've ever owned. Best money I've ever spent on a kit. It's...

Re: I put a Tama Starclassic B/B on layaway!

Very nice! I'm thinking about getting rid of my Force 3007 kit so I can buy a b/b kit. Definately post some pics once you get that beast home. Congrats!

Re: Tama Starclassic Bubinga snares?

I have the S.L.P. model and it's on of my favorite snares right now. It's my main snare for the classic rock band I play in. Beautiful dry low-end sound with plenty of crack when I need it. I love...

Re: Todd Sucherman here!

Thanks again for coming to Ohio Todd. I was at the last clinic in columbus and it was great to finally meet you. The clinic was very informative and inspiring. Your playing was phoenominal. I had...

Re: Lets Just Say

I can understand your brand loyalty and wanting to stay with Yamaha. If you can't find something in your price range from that brand you may want to consider opening yourself up to different brands....

Re: Tama Starclassic Review

Good review. I have a set of all birch performers that were made in Japan and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I bought the 6pc kit (8/10/12/14/16/22) about six years ago for $900 used. They...

Re: Is The Tune-Bot Worth It?

I have a drum dial and I like it but my problem with it is that I feel like I need to crouch down and see the dial on the same level so I get an "accurate' reading. I've been thinking about getting...

Re: Premier Genista vs. Tama Starclassic b/b

I'm curious to see what others say about these two kits as well. I did own a Premier Genista kit about ten years ago and I do regret selling it because it sounded so great. After comparing the...

Re: Jason Bonham

With today's social media sometimes I forget about how easy it can be to ask these guys ourselves. I'll look into that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Jason Bonham

I really like the drum sound he's got on this DVD. Any insights into how he's getting that sound on the toms? I haven't had much luck in finding out exactly what setup he's using either. Sizes,...

Looks like Sleishman is working on getting some better distribution here in the U.S. Their website shows something coming from nashville in that direction. I'm curious to see what because I have...

Re: Sonor's build quality- not what it used to be.

+2 on the excellent service from Sam. I have only bought some small hardware pieces from him when I got my 3007 kit but the price and service was escellent. I am seriously considering buying a set...

Re: My little collection is a little bigger now

That's a cool collection of snares Bo. I really dig the Tama stuff as well but I haven't jumped into a 13" yet. These are the current snares I have that work for me, and there are others on the...

Re: New Tama SLP Snare Drum Line

I don't think the badge is that bad. As far as these drums being a budget line, maybe they are but they are some of the best sounding affordable snare drums that I've ever used. I have the SLP...

Re: Have you guys heard the new Tama SLP snare drums?

I fell in love with this drum the first time I saw one months ago at a local GC. 6 x 14" 10-ply Bubinga shell with black nickel hardware. Today my wife gave me an early birthday/Father's day present....

Re: I'm a lefty, should I learn to play righty?

When I started learning, many many many years ago, my teacher started teaching me to play right handed. After noticing that things came to me so much quicker on a left handed set, he let me go that...

Re: Have you guys heard the new Tama SLP snare drums?

I really like the SLP snares. The bubinga and the power maple are on my list of gear to buy. Very nice drums for the price.

Re: New Sonor Prolite Red Tribal

Congrats on both ends! Those are one beautiful set of drums. I was sold on them when I watched the video of Gavin Harrison playing at the Sonor factory. The tone is just rediculous!

Re: What have you forgotton to take to a gig?

Forgot my cymbal bag once, that was a long time ago. More recently I forgot my stick bag. That sucked.
