Re: My final jazz drum set. Is it good? Anything i can improve on?

I have a ZBT ride, crash, and splash. The splash is OK I use it. I'd give you the other cymbals. I was thinking of putting rivets in them to see if that would help. I agree buy good cymbals-hi hats...

Re: Manchester Drum Show this Sunday - who's coming?

Re: Manchester Drum Show this Sunday - who's coming?

So how was the show? Did Guru garner lots of oohs and ahhs, and "I want one"? Was there a mention of the Guru Snare contest and I forgot what was happening now with the selection process or has it...

Re: Comparing ones abilities with others

Well if I seriously compared my drumming to others I'd likely had long sold my drum kits and given up drumming years ago. I've lots of "hobbies" that have come and gone but drumming has persisted the...

Re: Comparing ones abilities with others

I don't compare myself to other drummers cause I always thought my goal was to play my "way". So I listen and applaud what I like and consider how and what I would do different. I really suck at...

Re: Manchester Drum Show this Sunday - who's coming?

Dang a treasure trove of Guru-vinous on that trailer. Wish I was there to ride shotgun in case the stage coat gets robbed. Sounds like a fun event

Re: Forum demographic

I have a right to privacy so I'll be damned if I share I'm 60 years old and leave near Augusta, Georgia- home of James Brown and some fancy Golf tournament . What do I look like an idiot😖

Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

I think this is a case of "more Is Les". Funny stuff I think we can keep this thread going for years with this.

Re: Rock and roll....over?

I wonder if it is age related. My taste has changed from age 14 to 60. I listen to less rock than I use to also, but still love it. I honestly don't listen much to country or hip hop, however...

Re: 2015 Guru Snare Competition Entry Details - ENDS SOON!

"There's no way we get anything like a return on our investment in the competition, but to us, that's not really the point :) "
And that's why so many forum members love Guru drums and Andy....

Re: My Ludwig collection

Drum kit junkie got a monkey on his back. Obviously that little monkey is a drummer. Look at him mesmerizing buy another kit, buy another kit. Who could resist?

Re: 2015 Guru Snare Competition Entry Details - ENDS SOON!

Thanks for the update. Well there was a decent participation of drummers finally and some stellar videos. I don't know if many more would just swamp the judges. Thanks for your efforts Andy....

Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

Les is just pulling everyone leg or I should say shoulder to make you "lean". They aren't logical arguments so probably Gil Gilbert in disguise. Very funny though and I fell for it.

Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

"Evidence everywhere, ask your chiropractor to look. There are zero examples of video showing a dominant trad player playing with square shoulders and a healthy posture." That's not a valid argument....

Re: Is Dre25 now DuckTape?

Maybe change his moniker to the "Unknown Drummer" like the Unknown Comic-just put a bag on the chickens head and your "covered".

Re: Is Dre25 now DuckTape?

No if that were true his moniker would be "The Claw" , "Captain Hook" or "Dental floss" maybe "Bowling Bald". My understanding is he took lessons from Gil Gilbert and now has to reman anonymous for...

Re: Is Dre25 now DuckTape?

Duck tape= no drummer should ever leave home without it. I like it. Needs to add some dark glasses to the dancing hamster to maintain his secret identity. I don't think there was ever a Dre25 who...

Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

Well I agree people should always try to be civil and ad hominem isn't an argument. But no one has really provided any "evidence" just opinion.
