Re: How our perspective changes

Bo, the difference between your childhood experience and the "how can I play quietly?" threads is that the "quietly" threads are often started by players who discover relatively late in life that...

Re: Potential drummer; have a maybe controversial question

19? That's way too old.

What have you been doing with your life man?

Buy a really basic second hand drum kit for around $200...some cheap generic no name kit. Give it a try, take lessons,...

If only Madge could find a well loved alumin(i)um snare drum somewhere.

@Andy - would that poor Jewish Racing Gold snare drum get that shape from twisting? It looks like it's half way to being a...

Re: Rhythm section practice – a good way to improve the band’s time

Re: Always sounding bad when practicing

And yet 50% of all drummers are below average.

While there have been some very interesting and informative posts, there is an elephant in the room: guys were given links to look at as part of their preparation, but didn't do so.

That's no...

Re: What do you think of GetSticks.de?

Poor behaviour is like pornography: I recognise it when I see it.

The membership does a good job of reacting appropriately.

Re: Playing "War" what is it good for.

I have a hit-able tambourine on my hi hat stand, mounted just beneath the bottom hat. Opening and closing the hat doesn't disturb the tambourine.

Re: Gigs - like buses

Not "including", but "especially"!

If Bernhard does indeed live in Switzerland, I really...

Re: playing along with stuff

I never had that problem, but I really struggled with slowing my tempo to keep in time with the music as the gramophone wound down.

Re: Leave Me Alone, rant 2

There's a difference between "to" and "too", and between "your" and "you're". That kind of word crime is just inviting robust entertainment.

Re: Musicians Say streaming Music will Leave them Broke.

There's also the way in which music is consumed.

It's been a while since "high fidelity" was a hobby. I think there are two reasons for this:

Re: Trusting others with your kit?

One question: What kind of opportunity is this for you? What do you stand to gain?

As others have said, risk to drums is very low.

Re: Negative Progress / Quitting
