steve gadd crazy army
i found that in the orginal crazy army each roll is a seven stroke roll starting with left hand. but gadd is playing a five stroke roll starting right handed.
this sucks!

some drummers like bozzio really utilize and do need that big kit to make the sound they want out of their composition.
why most others like portnoy guys dont. they just randomly flash on toms...

I ve played both.
with matched grip i cant even do an even double stroke roll
with trad i can play good rudiments, which give me a good reputation as a tutor in my area.
That might sound weird...

Gadd was famous for his originality I think. He did open the drummers mind by his linear things in the 70s and 80s.
But it doesnt mean that he can play everything.
