Re: Feeling Faint During Shows

Sorry guys. Wasn't trying to be a stick in the mud.

It was more just a statement of fact, rather than a targeted dig at you guys. I'm certainly not trying to suggest what you can or can't respond...

Re: Current drum trends you wish would go away

Maybe drums should just go away?

After 5 whole pages of woe, I'm left with the impression that there's really not too much about the instrument that anyone actually likes.

Re: Feeling Faint During Shows

This thread is from 2016. It was revived by a spammer.

If this guy is still fainting on stage after all this time, he has far bigger problems than can be dealt with on a drum forum.

Re: Maybe I'm done compensating for my height ;)

This^^^

You do come up with some pretty flimsy justifications Bo. Simple fact is you like to experiment and change.....frequently......very frequently. Aside from providing hilarity to a drum...

Re: Premier Royal Ace Info Needed.

I think I came across that during my search too. PITA, but given so precious few other options are available, it's one to keep in mind.

That's the guy we reached out to. Just waiting on his...

Premier Royal Ace Info Needed.

I know someone bringing their 60's Premier Royal Ace snare drum back to life. He's hit a blank on sourcing the Double 10 snare wires these things use though.

They appear to be as rare as hens...

Re: Wearing watches while drumming

The crown guard alone would negate the need for a fibrous diet!!

Quite possibly the gaudiest watch maker on the planet. Most of their designs have me reeling back in horror. That one tops...

Re: Wearing watches while drumming

Definitely get it serviced mate. The car analogy is a good one. Mechanical watches should be serviced every 5 to 7 years, depending on the watch. There are so many working parts in that watch of...

Re: I don't understand why people close mic

Ultimately, it evolved because it could. 4 track, became 8 track, became 16 track, became 24 track. Analogue became digital.....and so on and so on.

Once upon a time placing a mic on each tom...

Re: Wearing watches while drumming

American.....using Swiss components.

Never heard of them. Interesting backstory though. They even had a crack at Hamilton in the 50's.

Re: Wearing watches while drumming

Good to see a few fellow watch enthusiasts here. I've long had an appreciation for nice mechanical timepieces too. I own a couple of Omega Seamasters, a Longines. Also have couple of JDM Seikos that...

Re: Maison Guidry (an unbelievable, amazing talent)

If you start to find yourself in a position where you're not being taken too seriously. It would be worth reflecting back on comments like this, as to why.

Grindcore??

As for your latest tale. Well, shit. Some people have all the luck!!

You'll have every band in the region coming to your gigs just to hand out flyers and poach your crowd.

Re: Beginner question...how to play a 4 piece on sheet music written for a 5 piece?

No, you haven't. Quite right. Poor choice of words on my behalf. Fair cop.

That's fine. To me it was a little weird to dismiss the experiences of others purely because they weren't...

Re: Beginner question...how to play a 4 piece on sheet music written for a 5 piece?

So all the guys who are out there living it, doing it, who have been where the OP is and gotten through it. They're not worthy of a voice, yeah?

Seriously, it's reading a basic drum chart for...

If John Goode ever makes a peanut kit, I'm buying it...............and eating it.

The exploration of different wood species in drum making is hardly new though. Chris Brady, John Craviotto and a...

Re: Band members who faff at rehearsals

Now, if only I could get my 2 and 4 year olds to vacuum the rehearsal room whilst the other members are friggen' around. I'd have it made!

Re: First Ludwig Snare

If it's the last dollar you're ever likely to earn, then maybe it was a mistake.

However, I'll wager it's not. And now at least you'll know what a standard Luddy wire sounds like on that drum. If...
