It occurred to me that I should probably say what gear I'm using. I use a Premier Steel Snare 14X6.5, Remo Diplomat snare side, and Aquarian response 2 coated batter side.

I fixed the problem it was the way the kick was mixed through the board.

I'm actually starting to think its just the miking situation, because I do tune my drums the exact way you've described. And as for the size I love my 26, I may even go up to a 28.

Well I didnt see any threads on Tichy. He's currently behind the kit in Whitesnake, he plays on their latest record Forevermore, and does a fantastic job, especially on the tracks, Steal Your Heart...

Steve is one of my favortie drummers, I'm probably one of the few people who like his work with la guns over what he did with wasp, love both bands but i prefer la guns' more striaght forward kind...
