Re: Double Bass Pedal Problems

Re: Legs hurts after constant double bass drumming?

Buy, borrow or steal a camera and record your feet while you're playing. If there's a technique problem, someone here will spot it.

Re: RAYA drums, hand made by Ray Ayotte.

Re: DW Performance now on order :-)

Re: My new Brady snare!!!!! :)

I love pics taken out in the garden, they make everything look so fresh. That beautiful snare looks right at home too!

Re: How to avoid the snare from making a noise as I play Toms/Bass?

You need a drum tech who will flip the snares off and on for you in between hits.

Re: If you could only have a 4-piece cymbal setup, what would it be?

Not too particular about it, gimme hats, a crashable ride, a faster crash and an 18"+ china and I'm set.

Re: Eliminating Tension and Shock in technique

If you have access to a video camera (a cell phone cam should be fine for this purpose), record yourself playing for a little bit, then play it back in slow motion to spot problems that need...

Re: I always drop my sticks during play

You could use stuff like stick tape, drummer gloves, etc, to get more grip.

Re: When is a song ready? When deciding by committee

It depends on what the target audience is. If you're mostly playing rock cover songs at shabby bars it's not crucial that everything is 100%, you could probably get away with some mistakes here and...

Re: Is this something you would worry about? (cymbal crack)

I would def worry about that, get it replaced while you still can.

How would one treat this if it wasn't still under warranty though?

Re: Does air drumming with sticks helpful if you don't have anything to hit?

Spikeydrummer (the guy in the Tigger costume) has a youtube vid on practising without a kit.

Re: Tom on snare stand

Such a good photo of a great looking kit. The only thing missing are some scantily clad ladies in the pool!

Re: Heel - Heel, Toe - Toe???

Time linking in youtube is simple, just take your link and add #t=3m0s

So the link in question would be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6hb0y2cU2M#t=3m0s

Re: Showing my new Italian PHIDRUM Snare

I'm glad he wrote "This is your snare", could've easily mistaken this for a piece of antique furniture. Beautiful.

Re: Drum Hoodie

Why would you buy a Remo hoodie, afaik they pay people to wear them. Why not get a hoodie supporting your favorite drummer/band instead?

Re: Mounting cymbals on the bass drum

Using less stands is great for your stage footprint and also for your back, but I prefer clamps to drilling holes. I'm running a 12" splash+18" china+tom from my tom holder's built in clamp/third...
