Re: Just a G.A.S. observation

Eh, food and water are survival items. "Wants" and NOT "needs" are considered addiction. Especially when you sacrifice the latter for the former. It is a real problem with people and it CAN be cured.

Re: Just a G.A.S. observation

My gas usually starts on its own. I don't really get it from reading forums. Mostly YouTube though.

Is my drum copper?

Pearl Ultratone snare made in Japan. I always thought this was odd until I learned that there were chrome over steel snares, and chrome over copper. Is this oxidized metal or is this copper that's...

Re: Please help me identify this Pearl Snare

Wow that looks an awful lot like the Pearl Ultratone but with a 'Pearl' logo instead of 'Ultratone'. The strainer, the lugs, shell, and tensioner knobs for the "batter head mute". If it sounds...

Re: Dilemma : what should I sell?

To be completely fair and honest, I have spent a TON of money this past year. I recently got into a new hobby of hunting and firearms, which has cost me a few grand. I've also picked up a new back up...

Re: How to get rid of rust on rims?

Well I got all of the lugs off the big drum but I had one FINAL lug on the small drum - I was so close, and it just wouldn't budge after several techniques and treatments of CRC. I decided to recoup...

Re: How to get rid of rust on rims?

Got em soaking. One more question. I am so close to being able to use my good free floating lug rim ring and get rid of this old pos. I have one lug left. It's screwed into a screw with hex shaped...

Re: Dilemma : what should I sell?

Heh with all due respect my wife IS more valuable than my drums, and I will honor her wishes. Larryace says I should sell the thin one... Hmm maybe he's right.....

Dilemma : what should I sell?

So I decided to buy a deep Pearl Free Floater with the intention of selling my shallow one. I ordered it from GC and got it, and to my horror it was in pretty rough shape. Rusted rims, a hex screw on...

Re: How to get rid of rust on rims?

Okay, don't shoot me for saying this - but since we're soaking the rims in coke and not actually drinking it; can I use the off brand stuff or a quasi-Pepsi? ( Since some off brands copy Pepsi and...

Re: Finally bought a kit after insane debating....

Sorry to hear that man. Well, its a perfect time for a high end Pearl kit! You won't look back and their customer service is bomb. :-)

In the end though regardless of brand it's what you're happy...

Re: Is this a normal feeling?

I was kinda hoping it was about puberty...

Nah. Truth be told I think I could never get used to an electric drum set. It's too sterile sounding, feeling, and with the exception of those really $$$...

Re: Please help me get tension on my snare wires...

Thank you for the response. I tinkered with it more after giving it a rest. Here was the issue. My new shell is 8" tall. My old shell was 5". Even though I used longer rods on the shorter lugs...

Please help me get tension on my snare wires...

Got a new pearl free floater today and the hardware is rusted out so I swapped the larger shell onto my old free floater and used longer tension rods. I took the 42 strand and new(er) reso head off...

Re: Switched my gigging kit from Pearl to PDP

I retired my Masters drums to "stack status" mainly because I set up drums on the un-heated porch (gets below freezing) but also because those PDPs sound so darn good. PDPs are not shabby for what...

Re: Pearl Bass Drum ID?

Pearl WLX World Series. Late 80s early 90s. That's my best guess. Any idea what it says on the badge? The WLX paved the way for the Sessions series.

Edit - that bass has 10 lugs hmmmm...

Re: Finally bought a kit after insane debating....

A couple years ago I was debating buying a *Classic but I decided to go for the Pearl Master series instead. I just wasn't impressed by the Tama and felt the quality was not quite up to par with the...

Re: Zildjian ZHT set any good?

If you must buy new then try to stretch for a set of Sabian AA's. they have some packs available that mix different product lines together (in fact I think it's called sabian mix packs). Try one of...
