First column is the count (not sure how the hi-hat is notated) I am leaving the hi-hat out since I am unsure. This may be confusing but it works for me.

From what I was taught by a big band drummer, if your left hand is in the proper position you should be able to balance a second stick perpendicular to the other stick. It should stay in position...

Two songs that I find challenging are:
Giant Steps by John Coltrane and Evidence by Thelonious Monk.
Giant Steps for the speed and Evidence for the timing of the notes. Monk used space very well.
