Re: Wood bass drum hoops

I actually already refinished a tom that I don't use anymore as my guinea pig and it came out quite nice, so I plan on using stain again. And yes, sanding is the treacherous part...

Wood bass drum hoops

Hello all. I am planning on refinishing my kit soon but I'm worried about the bass drum. The wood is poplar and the only wood hoops that I can find are maple. I'm pretty sure that no matter what,...

Re: Which Puresound wire is more sensitive?

Sorry about that. Bad word choice there. I knew that the Equalizer would be capable of helping with buzz and sensitivity at the same time. But that it stresses more on sympathetic buzz.

Re: Which Puresound wire is more sensitive?

Interesting. I thought the Equalizer line was made to reduce unwanted buzz but not for sensitivity. I'll take this into consideration.

Re: Which Puresound wire is more sensitive?

Appreciate your responses. I will most likely go to Resurrection Drums and see what they think. I might not go for the 30 strand to go through the hassle of a snare bed. And I've been thinking about...

Which Puresound wire is more sensitive?

Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting snare wires, particularly sensitive ones. The ones I have noticed so far are the Puresound Blasters 20 strand and the Puresound Custom 30 strand. Which is the...

Re: Most Under-rated Drummers

[QUOTE=Stoney;601242]No way is Matt Cameron under rated!! Not where I come from anyway. A fair few of my friends are heavily influenced by him. Including myself to some degree.

Re: What special clothes do you wear when drumming?

My birthday suit.

Jokes aside, just a t-shirt and athletic shorts. With either socks or no socks.

Re: Anyone here right-handed but left-footed? or vice versa?

I'm left handed but I play on a right handed kit. It was just natural for me to play like this. My batting stance is left handed. My golf stance is right handed. My basketball shot is right handed. I...

Paul Crosby's equipment?

I have been listening to Saliva's Every Six Seconds album and I love how the drums and cymbals sound on it, especially the snare. Does anyone know what he uses on the album?

Re: Shell packs, whats in it?

I was wondering this too. Does it come with hoops, lugs, tension rods, etc.?

Pitting on snare drums

I was looking to buy a Supraphonic snare on ebay but some have pitting spots on them. I'm not really sure what it is, so I was wondering: Does it mess up the sound or does it just make it look bad?

Re: Need help on what to buy!

I tried pedals at Guitar Center and none of the DWs really "wowed" me. The ones that I liked a lot were the Pearl Eliminator and Yamaha Flying Dragon so I'm gonna get which ever one is cheaper and...

Re: Need help on what to buy!

I don't really want another stand since I'm low on room in my garage so I'll buy the adapter to make sure the tom is attached to the stand.

Re: Need help on what to buy!

Thanks guys for your help! So it's the tom mount and pedal. Would the mount still make the tom attached to the bass drum or would it be an arm that attaches to a stand? Does anyone know how much they...

Re: Need help on what to buy!

If the snare stand would be really cheap, then I could definitely buy a second item. It could most likely be any of them.

Re: Need help on what to buy!

1) The cymbals I have now are Meinl MCSs and a Paiste PST5 crash. The china would be more of something to just have.
2) My snare now sounds great but I've always wanted another snare drum.
3) My...

I'm not sure exactly where to post this so I put it in here.
I have $130 right now and my b-day is coming up in a few weeks and I'm stuck between four choices on what to buy:
