Never played a Hip gig but I own a Gretsch Jazz Club. I love my kit, its exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier. I'm in the process in finding some better cymbals (used to own Zildjian...

Re: Gretsch Limited Reserve Catalina 4 Piece Classic Bop Shell Kit Drum Set

Take many pics of your set and post some specs in the "Your Gear" section! I really enjoy seeing pics of these sets and people's opinions.

Re: Jazz Drum Set - Sizes?

I use my kit mostly for rock but i do spend time with jazz.

my kit is:

bass drum - 14x20
snare - 5x14
rack tom - 8x12
floor tom - 14x14

I do love the sound of a 14x18 bass drum though.

Pearl H800W for $20

I was either going to get...

Re: Filling the bass drum

I'm absolutely having trouble finding a good versatile bass batter head. I dont like filling my BD with anything. I play mostly rock and jazz. I have a 14x20 bass drum.

So I narrowed my choices...
