I just recently got an Aquarian Classic Clear White Gloss head for the front of my 24" bass drum, and i used a bit of paper towel with some nail polish remover on it, came off straight away, no fuss....

Re: MD's 25 Legends who changed drumming

I think it's a bit harsh Nickg, as everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I don't agree with his comment either.

Bonham an over rated drummer.!? Hmmm? Are you serious?

Travis Barker is THE...

Re: What's inside your Kick drum?

Re: Fattest Snare Sound Ever Recorded?

I LOVE that Album. Rumours has got to be one of my personal favourite albums, and definitely one of the fattest snare sounds ever

Re: My first drum kit - Vintage Ludwig?

I, personally, would heartily disagree that the speed king was only great back in the day. They are still good today. I have a 1966 pedal which is all original, never went wrong, AND it's still...

Re: Good tom sound for heavy metal?

I'd say, if you're using clear emperors or pinstripes, try putting them at finger tension, then place your hand in the middle so you can see wrinkles around the edge. Then tune up until just before...

Re: Fans of 70's drum sound

It does have a lot to do with recording technique and equipment. When i think of 70's, i think vistalites, hydraulics, CS dots, and John Bonham. He was the seventies drum wise IMO :D

Re: Why do People Think They Can Touch My Drumset?

This annoys me a hell of a lot too. I always get people coming up to me, usually some snobby sax or brass player, saying "Oh, you should play this", and they then come out with some stupid rhythm...

Re: Broken bones - ouch

The drummer in my school's rock band has just broke his arm, so i've been asked to fill in for him for a couple of months. Should be fun!

Re: Playing other drummers drum sets

I am one of the people that hates doing the whole kit share thing, and i hate doing it BOTH ways.

I go to a music jam thing every saturday, it's got some learners and some old pros and it's great...

Re: The Black Panther thread! For all BP snare fans and owners....

Well then. I'd say either buy a 14x6.5 steel one, or go with a phosphor bronze one similarly sized. That should help you towards that sort of sound.

Re: Your Drum Instructor's Kit

My teacher teaches on a crappy beaten up pearl export in rock sizes (22,12,13,16), with some seriously awful zildjian zbts.
He actually plays a pearl session elite/custom in flame red, with some...

Re: Back to using my Supra

I've just purchased a new 14X6.5 Supraphonic, you know just a plain bonham style LM402, however, from what I've heard, they are amazingly versatile, I love that classic look they have, I can't...
