Here's what I use for general storage so things don't get stepped on. Mounted on a Pearl arm and clamp. I normally build my own projects like this but opted to pick this up from Steele at Kentville...

Just to muddy the waters a little bit, another option is go 12" rack tom, 15" & 18" floor toms. Just a suggestion.

With my newest kit I thought I would use 8 X 12" rack with 14 X 14 and 16 X 16"...

if you want more of the natural tone of the drum, and not a scooped EQ, I recommend the Audio-Technica ATM-25. They are discontinued, but you can still pick them up used. Great mic for both ported...
