Definition of THRONE
a : the chair of state of a sovereign or high dignitary (as a bishop)

It doesn't really matter what wood your drum shell is made of. Any slight difference in properties is lost in the mix anyway.

Here's a thought experiment: If you took 200 non-musicians and gave 100 of them a year of guitar instruction and gave the other 100 a year of drum instruction. Assuming they all spent the same time...

Re: Help!! Hand is Cramping

Yes, it's very comfortable and works well. But if you don't use it often, it will make for a nasty blister on the inside of your index finger, at least for me.

I have the same cramping problem and have playing for 30 years. What I do is switch to the Carmine Appice grip. It's not pretty, but it feels quite good and gives your hand a rest,

Re: Jazz CD for rock drummer

Thanks for all your suggestions. I feel resonably comfortable on the ride, I simply have no idea what to do with my left hand; when to sort of comp. I find myself just abitrarily hiting the snare...

Metronome use while gigging

I know everyone says practice with a metronome. I learned to play the drums listening to records, so I assume that's similar. I still have the tendancy to speed up when I play with the band. Does...

SJC Hammered metal Snare.

It's made by SJC and sold by Sam Ash. It is apparently 1 mm thick bronze with the center section of the 6.5" deep shell hammered. The drum looks great and sounds great in the store. Just wondering if...
