Re: Jazz Kit Idea

Alright. Since I am going to be using it for other genres of music as well, I am a little worried about durability. At times I can hit hard.

How would the G14 be? Its still single ply, but 14mil....

Re: Jazz Kit Idea

Alright. I will be keeping my current kit and getting some new heads (I need to anyways) and a new ride and maybe a crash or crash ride. I really like cymbals with rivets.

What heads would you...

Re: Jazz Kit Idea

Hmm, after reading this, I think it would be a good idea just to use my current kit. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper since I am only a high school student. I will just get a new ride and maybe...

Re: Jazz Kit Idea

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

Hmm. The Level 360 really made a big difference in tuning to me. It was a lot easier to get it tuned for me. I have heard a lot of statements that the Level 360 is easier/quicker tuning. And it was...

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

I really love my Acro! I picked up a coated G1 and it sounds AMAZING! It was also super easy to tune with the Level 360.

At my old school, I found a Keystone Acro. It is not being used and hasn't...

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

G1- $14.99
Ambassador- $12.99

Its only a couple bucks difference, but if the Evans lasts longer and is easier to tune, I think it would be the obvious choice. But, when I switch out my Emps on my...

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

Warm water or cold water? Does that matter? And would it be safe to clean the lugs, hoops, and shell with some Windex?

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

Alright, so Ill probably pick up the Gibraltar 42's once it gets here. And for heads, Id like to stick to Remo, because that is what all my drums have on them. But if Aquarian are superior then maybe...

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

Actually, I just won an Acro for $106. Not a great deal, but I'm pretty happy. Im going to put a coated Ambassador on top and clear Ambassador on bottom. Maybe Ill throw some PureSound wires on....

Re: Chad Smith Snare or Acrolite

Thanks guys for the responses. Heres an idea I just got of how I can have both: Buy the CS right away while its so cheap. Then, my school has a few beat up 70's Acro's that aren't being used. I can...
