Re: Anyone use hart dynamics

Great drums. I can only speak to my kit, but I've read that most people seem to agree that Harts are excellent if you are looking at the mid-level to pro kits.

Re: SJC Customs...?

Matt, I'm curious why almost every kit in the SJC gallery is a 3 piece. Any idea?

Re: Woofer, offset lugs...

Hi Billy, have your DVD. Cool!
I hadn't heard of this offset lug thing until recently but, from what I gather, the lugs aren't in a straight line between the heads. Check out these SJC drums. I...

Re: What Drum Kit is right for me?

There is not as much a difference between the pro kits and mid -level kits as there was years ago. The manufacturers seem to have figured out easier ways to add some of the details (mass produced, I...

Woofer, offset lugs...

Anyone have a kit with a kick drum woofer? How about offset lugs?
Does the woofer make a difference, in your opinion and howso? Are the lugs cosmetic or does this make a difference in the sound?...

Re: Drum damaged in shipping. Am I responsible?

UPS always blames someone else. I bought a marimba that was damaged (it was part of the frame and would have had to have been dropped on something sharp for the type of damage that was caused or...

Re: I need your help!

Mapex or Taye and often you can get the "extra tom free" with both brands.

Plenty of Mapex on ebay and other places!

Re: Cindy Blackman

She's a great player and also, I understand, a great teacher and mentor. I have a friend who studied with her at USC and had nothing but amazing things to say about her.

Re: Ari Hoenig

Just recently turned on to him and very glad about it. He's just amazing and despite his often minimalist, fantastic melodic style, the guy definitely has chops. I'd really like to hear his playing...

Re: Taye Studio Maple Review

Thanks for the nice review. I don't see the tom movement as problematic unless it's coming loose--I think the drums just resonate more.
Sounds like you're going to love this kit! I'm lusting...

Re: Need some help with teaching

Have her learn open handed. Play ride with her right and hats with her left, kick with right and left foot on hats. She can then sit in with any right-handed player (most of us) and she'll have way...

Re: Speed issues.

Try doing subdivisions of fives and sevens also. Cycle up from twos, threes, fours, etc. to eights and then back to sevens, sixes, fives, etc. back to twos with a metronome.

Re: how are these vistalites on ebay?

Seems strange they'd go for such a low price. For a buy it now, they'd prolly be gone if it were legit. Course I'm no vintage expert--maybe they're not that great.

Is this your auction?
