Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I won't name the store but I am pretty sure at this particular Guitar center they would hire you.

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

So back when the Signets first came out back in early march I went up to guitar center to try them out. I started playing on them and they sounded awful. I asked the guy working the percussion...

Re: Today's Fattest Sounding Kits?

I have heard the C&C Player dates and those are some super Fat sounding kits. If that is the sound you are looking for you should check them out. Also every old slingerland kit i have heard has been...

Re: Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

I much prefer floor toms with feet because I don't like the slight bounce of a hanging floor tom. However I have never really been able to tell a sound difference as long as they are the same depth....

Re: Snare buzz

+1 on these Bob Gatzen videos. As goofy as this guy is when it comes to achieving certain drum sounds this guy is pretty great and explains things well. I can't believe no one referenced these...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

I just bought a 20" Evans EQ3 clear head at my local music store for $10. I guess no one is buying 20 inch heads and they have a bunch of pre-360 20's in stock for $10. I may go back when I get...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I did not received anything other than the triad mounts with mine and they were fresh out of the box. However I had intended to mount it on a snare stand from the beginning.

Re: Nice...or not so much

I have met tons of really nice drummers, notable where Billy Martin, and Ed Shaughnessy, However I met another well known Jazz drummer that rubbed me the wrong way. I won't name any names but I...

Re: should i swap my acrylic kit for a DDrum dominion maple?

Only you can decide but if it were me I would not. You put the time into assembling that kit to your specs, and even though acrylic gets a bad rep I personally have loved the sound of all the...

Re: Jenkins-Martin (Blaemire) announces "Starry Night" Limited Edition.

Beautiful, I normally wouldn't like a kit with an over the top finish but this one is different. Very, very nice.

Re: Mapex USA Maples

I have only read about these drums. I believe there were only 300 or so sets made before they were discontinued. They were made by Gibson? so Pretty rare drums overall. My guess is that they...

Re: Got called for a Session, YAY! Gear Upgrade?

Not calling you a liar at all but I have never had this problem with rides. I can always seem to get comfortable with rides really fast, same goes with toms, and bass drums. However snares, hats,...

Re: Got called for a Session, YAY! Gear Upgrade?

You can never have too many cymbals.... Scratch that; you can never have too many snares.... Ahhh what am I saying? Get them both. If you only have the money for one flip a coin, and then be angry...

Re: Rock Gigs Not Very Rock Anymore?

I see this all the time when I am playing out. It is so hard to get an audience reaction. However one thing I have noticed is that it seems like they are not paying attention during the show but...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

The Signet also has 8 lugs on the bass but for some reason I am a fan of fewer lugs. even on snares. I Have a ten lug snare that I love and I have an 8 lug snare that I love. But I find few lugs to...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I personally like the signets better than the stage custom but it really depends on what you are looking for. If you want a maple sound then these will be better but if you like the birch sound then...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

Didn't the Sonor S Classix have a plastic part on their lug at one point in time. Also I would say that these bass drum spurs are super sturdy. Sturdier than alot of others I have tried and also...

Re: Legend Bronze Snare... what's the scoop?

I played one a while back and the guy who owned it asked me if I wanted to buy it for $125 I was broke and in college so I had to say no. It was a 6.5x14 and to this day I still wish I would have...
