Re: Advice for this old Ludwig snare

If you go this route, buy extra. If you stretch this stuff, it stays stretched. It will crease or crimp under the hardware--not everywhere. . .but if it doesn't go on ABSOLUTELY perfectly, you...

Re: FORUM: Change

If it's easier to post pictures and videos, I'll be happy. I have to make so many adjustments to my pics just to get them to upload.

Believe me, I've tried to make adjustments on my iPhone as...

Re: Is walnut and birch material high end stuff?

I see. . .No! Lol, Larry I actually didn't know that. I've only been back into drums since November of last year. I still have SO MUCH to learn about manufacturing and production and which company...

Re: Is walnut and birch material high end stuff?

Isn't Birch relatively "inexpensive" comparatively speaking? It seems that birch/basswood is often used together in "low end" or "beginner" kits.

Re: Affordable In-ears?

I've owned probably 15 to 20 pairs of "buds" over the last 10-15 years. For the price alone, and only being used as "daily earbuds", the quality is great. I agree that no particular part of the...

Re: What was Sting thinking with this..???

I understand what you're saying. I have no clue. I don't like much by Sting, just "If you love somebody" really. My 2cents, he needs the $ and he's trying to reach a younger crowd? Who knows.

Re: What was Sting thinking with this..???

I love that song. And honestly, that version isn't wretched in my ears. But I TOTALLY agree that everything he's done basically since, NOT GOOD.

I saw Sting live in 1987! One of my favorite...

Re: Consolidating Gear-Opinions Welcomed and Appreciated

I TOTALLY AGREE. I mean, I can't even fathom 35 kits. Sell, sell, sell. Then pick up 2 high end kits or something like that. I mean, I love collections. I wish I had the money for such a...

Re: Bizarre experience with Ludwig...

I totally agree. As I said, perfection is rare. But ONE customer continuing to deal with problems like these. . .it's not Karma.

Re: Bizarre experience with Ludwig...

You would hope, and think that Ludwig would inspect the drums CLOSELY enough to see such a problem BEFORE it even left the building it was manufactured in. I think a lot of companies rely on the...

Re: If 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was released today...

Absolutely yes. Great song, lol. Sometimes people simply need someone to show them something a little different. Get 'em out of their comfort zone.

There's just TOO MUCH GOOD music from 99'...

Re: If 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was released today...

Good music, IS, good music. Younger people today, hopefully have someone older and knowledgeable in their life that turned them on to great music like Queen.

I personally feel like there's just...

Re: Could use some advice on buying from overseas/customs etc.

If there is something required as far as customs, the seller should be responsible--OR should contact you with instructions. Otherwise, it should ship right to your door.

Re: Show me your Popcorn snare mounts!

Al, I wish I had went a similar route. But, if you notice up above, I decided on a Gibraltar clamp--the one timmdrum posted. Your setup gives more extension away from what you're clamped to. I may...

Re: Show me your Popcorn snare mounts!

I mean, if I posted an audio/video track, and it sounded feeble and weak, that would be one thing. But just posting useless crap because it's a snare 2" smaller than the average popcorn. . .this is...

Re: How do I position each of the drums in the kit?

It's only a decade long journey if you don't put the time in and practice and play and practice and play. It "seems", as if he just wants to sit down at the kit and sound like he's been playing on...

Re: Ever had a band or genre of music that you shouldn't like...but you do?

X2 I listened to what I wanted to listen to. There ARE NO RULES about should or shouldn't listen to. It's a free world! I listened to Prince, Mariah Carey, Sinead O'Connor. . .AND, Guns & Roses,...
